This amazing island was my first backpack trip out of Europe ever and just like a first love, it will always be special. There are many places in the world I visited more than once, the same goes for Sri Lanka and what amazes me most is that despite some infrastructural changes and a bigger variety of hotels, the vibe is still exactly the same.
I could write pages about the island but just believe me when I say that despite the small size of the island, it absolutely has it all. an unseen variety of nature, culture, a surprisingly interesting history, desolated beaches, delicious food and on top of this all, sincere inhabitants always happy to help you.
